Gamesparks is a high-tech company based out of York and Dublin operating in the video games sector. The company provides a cloud-based platform that allows games developers to build all of the server-side components of their games (multiplayer, social, leaderboards etc.) and then operate their games once they are launched. They work closely with other video games technology companies such as Unity, Havok and Marmalade, and have multi-game contracts with some of the industry’s largest publishers.
Having emerged as the clear leader in the provision of Backend-as-a-Service solutions to the games industry, the company is looking to double its workforce over the coming 12 months to cope with the increased demand for its product and services globally.
Today, 2000 companies use their service, with over 100 live games including the Lara Croft franchise. An expansion of the company into the USA is currently underway and the company continues to grow aggressively by 300% per year.
