About the role

The Junior Systems Consultant is the entry level into the Systems Consulting team at ADVA Optical Networking. Working alongside Systems Consultants, the Junior Systems Consultant will be trained in all the aspects required to progress within the organization and become responsible for the customer technical relationships.

Areas of responsibility include: 

  • Providing support to the UK and Ireland Systems Consultants for ADVA’s solution portfolio.
  • Assist in the responses to regional bids and tenders.
  • Designing, documenting and presenting the solutions as described by the Systems Consultants, using any of the available internal tools.
  • Work with Systems Consultants and Network Consulting in developing customer demonstrations and participate when required.

Desirable characteristics include: 

  • A degree in either an engineering discipline, mathematics or physics.
  • General knowledge of telecommunications and datacommunications would be advantageous.
  • Ability to create and maintain close working relationships.
  • Independent working style with good organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working to defined deadlines.
  • Good English skills, both spoken and written.
  • Flexibility to travel.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Basic software or scripting knowledge would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Self-motivated, innovative and with an open mindset.
  • Independent working style with good organisational skills.
  • Self-confident and reliable.
  • Robust personality and attitude are essential.
